Hi All,
So have been studying/procrastinating for the last 3 months and just did my first CAT,
MGMAT CAT1
After having spent the last 3 months completing the
MGMAT quant books + all the
OG questions. Thought I would be in ok shape for a
MGMAT CAT. WRONG, from as soon as I started I felt like I was being bent over by a big man named Bubba. Scored V40. Felt it was v. difficult, more so than the exercises in
MGMAT and the
OG questions.
Short Background:
QuantHave spent the last 3 months working through the
MGMAT quant books, because of work and general procrastination. Felt the books were so long and had so many questions attached to the stage where I'd forget what I'd done previously. I had a quick review of all the topics before I took the CAT, made me feel a bit more comfortable. However, its been a long time since I did say for example any number property questions/
og questions. I was very surprised at the score given all the questions I'd been through in the
MGMAT series. Is this normal?? Are scores meant to increase rapidly once you go into review mode and start doing a lot more questions and taking tests. The CAT suggested I was probably in the Q44-45 range until I got the last 5-6 questions wrong because I ran out of time and had to guess.
VerbalI am a native speaker and have not yet started verbal prep, scored 31, maybe a positive? Am thinking I could rapidly improve with some prep.
The PlanPlease give feedback on my plan.
So i'm out of time and excuses, I've been working a lot of hours (100+) a week at times but I will be taking a fair bit of time off in this last month.
So 1 month till test day.
Next few days, review Quant, determine what weak points are and try to close them out. Its been a while since I've done quant questions in some of the topics I'd done previously. In hindsight I should've kept doing questions on the topics I'd completed, the best resource probably would've been the questions on gmatclub!
Verbal: Have a 2 week plan
- 6 Days, hit
MGMAT SC, will try to do all questions,
OG and all that
- 6 Days, RC, again probably using
MGMAT- 3 Days CR
MGMATDuring this time will intend assign some time to do quant questions every few days to keep it fresh.
Review: 2 weeks intensive review, close out weak areas, test taking, practice questions, etc etc (Will try to cram in some AWA).
Any feedback, or other suggestions would be much appreciated, my aim is 700+.
