Another 700 GMATClubber! (Q48, V37) [#permalink] New post 29 Nov 2007, 14:38
Just wanted to share with everyone that I took my GMAT today and scored a 670. I'm not pleased with the score, but not completely disappointed either. The whole nervousness factor played a huge role in my score I think. I started second guessing some of my answers and then time became an issue and so on and so forth.

After some easy quant problems, I had a bunch of rather difficult data suffiency problems.

The verbal was pretty much what I expected, although I know I made a mistake on one CR.

I'm done with my applications, so I have the next 31 days to study and retake it. I've already rescheduled! I'll hit some of the weak spots and keep working on time management.

The Pearson test center was great and the staff was super helpful. I was surprised at the amount of security there was. When I took the GREs, I remember they took my picture but they did not take a thumbprint. Pretty cool!

Congrats on your score and good luck for the next attempt. Concentrate on your weakness and you'll be all set to achieve your target score soon !

As a jumping off point to your next attempt, that's a great score, and it isn't shabby by itself. Raise your verbal by just a couple of points, and you will have your 700+, no doubt! Nerves can be a killer, but now that you've taken the exam once, I bet they won't be a factor the next time. Good luck with your studies!

Hey all, just finished up my second attempt at the GMAT a few hours ago. I went from a 670 to a 700. Submitted my Duke and Wharton apps with two hours to spare! PHEW!

Thanks to everyone for all the help. It's been an experience, I can say that. After I took a practice Kaplan test in mid-September and got a 560, I was discouraged. I got back on the horse and lurked a ton before really posting. 670 the first time, but I thought my nerves played a part.

I thought I did better on the math to be honest with you, but oh well. My math was just under the 80%ile my first go around and now is above so that is good. My verbal stayed the same.

OG,OG, GMATPREP, OG, GMATPREP, etc. Those two resources are where I spent most of my effort.

 It was more like 2.5 hours to spare. Everything was done on the apps, all I had to do was change the GMAT score and submit, so it wasn't a big deal. It did make my day hectic though.

I am an a clear example of how NOT to plan the whole GMAT process of b-school applications, eventhough it ended up alright.
