I have seen this question somewhere.

The solution is as follows

S = 1/33 + 1/34 + 1/35 + 1/36 + .... ...... + 1/64


notice that 1/32 > than any term of the series

so S < 1/32 (32 terms) <1

notice also that 1/64 < than any term of the series (except 1/64)

so S >1/64 (32 terms) >1/2

This gives the sum between 1/2 and 1


When I solved the problem I looked at the choices and it guided me for the solving of the solution that is most close to the multiple choices.

Of cours if some nombers are ranges are closer to 1/2 and 1, that would have changed the whole thinking process.

Yep uses euler's fundas. Refer to Calculus by IA Maron or Maths by krotov to get an answer for this one. Look up the Limits and Continuity chapters.
