If, for example, I have a few questions left and my time is running out, is there a good strategy as far as guessing vs skipping?

you may skip the questions that test the topic you are not comfortable with. (do read them once if you have time - takes only 5-10 secs) & try not to screw up consecutive questions. Also, make sure you finish the test!
