Any Chance for R3? (H/S) [#permalink]
01 Mar 2009, 14:28
Hello everyone.
I got accepted at Rice (which I am happy with) and wondering if I have a chance at Harvard or Stanford for round 3?
I am 21 years old. I started a business when i was 18 and sold it fairly recently for a pretty large sum of money.
I also started another business which is currently doing well and I am taking a more hands off approach.
My GMAT is 680 M: 48 V 36
I graduated from Texas A&M with a 3.0 in economics in only 3 years (while also running my business).
I really want to go into consulting and maybe look into entrepreneurship on a larger scale (my previous businesses had a max of 3 employees).
what do you guys think?

For what it's worth, the two HBS admits I've met who are your age both have one big thing in common with you: they started their own businesses.
It's definitely worth trying for R3. If you don't make it this year, you can reapply next year. Rice is a great school, but the reputation is more regional unfortunately (trust me, I have first hand experience).
