Age: 28

Work Experience: I have been working full time for the past 6+ years as a math teacher at a public school in the Bronx (did the New York City Teaching Fellows Program). Have been involved in leadership positions within the school such as scheduling director, SLT (school leadership team), coaching, mentoring new teachers, leading curriculum development and planning

GMAT: Q- 50, V-44 Total- 770 AWA -6.0

Educational Experience: Graduated in 2006 from Haverford College with a 3.15 GPA and a major in Economics. M Ed from City College in 2009 with a 3.4 GPA.

Extra-Curricular: Almost all of my work as been at my school, either coaching (football, basketball, volleyball, and baseball) and tutoring (after school and on Saturdays) but I have also been active in intramural volleyball and basketball leagues

Target Schools: Ideally I am looking for a school with a good dual degree program MBA/M Ed (Stanford, Darden) but am also looking at HBS, Columbia, Tuck, Ross, MIT, Yale

Post MBA: I would like to return to education to work on the district or state level or possibly in a network of charter schools

Any feedback you could give me would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

I think you have a very strong profile. You may need to explain more clearly how the MBA will help you (i.e., what type of work do you want to do.), but I think you have all the right elements in your background for a top school

Hi bibby44!

I agree with Ward2012 that you seem to have a strong profile.

I think the fact that your extra-curricular activities and post-MBA goals have an education slant builds a good profile. You could package yourself as the "educator". Now you just need to have a clear vision and a solid reason for wanting an MBA. What professional/personal experiences have you had that led you to decide that this is the right thing to do?

(That actually sounded more like an admissions essay question. Haha!)

With the right packaging, you could be a shoo-in as the non-traditional MBA candidate for top schools, in my humble opinion.

Best of luck!
