Re: Any IMD Applicants for 2011 [#permalink]

Hello Fellas, M27/Indian/5 yrs WE sales & marketing MNC/GMAT 700 - Am awaiting INSEAD and LBS R1 intvw decisions.. Meanwhile started following the IMD thread. Considering applying to R1 if I dont make it to INSEAD / LBS.. though to be honest, after reading the entire IMD thread, I'm now wondering if I should even accept INSEAD / LBS if accepted !! IMD does sound like a standout ! I'd sent my profile for evaluation to adcom on the IMD site, and got a positive feedback encouraging me to apply for the program. Can any of the accepts / interviewees suggest whether this is a positive indicator at all, or do most ppl get similar positive evals of their profiles?? any responses will be truly, madly, deeply appreciated thx.

Well, I have only one experience (my own) to pour from - but I got the same feedback as you and I am in for 2011 Your profile looks good to me, so give it a shot! Good luck! Swissfrau !!!!! wow.. i got a reply on a dead thread !! brillianto ! kudos comin in !! Could you give me one more lil feedback - I do have strong industry experience with organizations like Shell and Nokia in sales & marketing in managerial position. However, I donot have any international work exposure. Having said that, I've travelled in over 8 countries (out of curiosity to see the world and with trade partners)... Do you think I would stand a chance (assuming I manage to write decent essays) at IMD ? Need to take some tough calls due to the not so ideal deadlines schedule for various schools !! Pls help !

Ravdoc, Hard to say but having worked in multinationals like Nokia is definitely not a minus. Hopefully, you worked with other nationalities during this time? I would emphasize this and maybe develop an essay around learnings from it. Would be a good fit for the leadership essay they probably request. You can definitely explain about your travels in one of the essays (there is a free-style one at the end) - but be careful: if you were just staying at the all inclusive hotel and only interacted with the waiter to order more ice cream it may not look so great Hope this helps... And thanks for the kudos!
