Any Lawyers Heading to B-School? [#permalink]
07 Jan 2013, 21:21
Hi All,
I'm a lawyer applying to law school and I thought it would be interesting to start a discussion about
1) Lawyers who are applying to school 2) Their experience in school, and 3) Their career experiences after.
I'll start.
I'm a commercial litigator who has been practicing for a few years at a large firm. I really want to get on the "client" side and thought an MBA would be a way to transition out of law and into a rotational management program.

A MBA would be a better option for the Clientt facing roles for the following reasons:
1) Law school does not teach Business Judgement for the Client 2) Not many law school will teach Management studies, Corporate Finance, M & A (for business) etc. except HBS, Columbia, NYU, Northwestern/Kelogg (LL.M.) & Upenn in their Corporate LL.M. Program. 3) It is far better to opt for MBA if you have time and $$$
