lol...dont sweat it on such a petty decision...there will be hundreds more that you have to make that are more important...just choose one and stick with it...hardly makes a difference...

the main reason i chose dhl was coz they come to yr home to pick up the parcel and all....i din wanna go to the post office and take a half day from work in the process...guess i traded tht off by paying more...thts it...no particular reason at all..!!

Indian applicants, which service is best for sending your transcripts quickly to the GIAC?

If I will be posting my transcript through registered post - India post , should I be mentioning the mail address or courier address?

I am concerned about the time which will be taken by the ems speed post, any idea?

Speed post--mail it to the courier address. Speed Post usually takes 8-10 business days (don't hold me to that number, just going by memory).

I notice you applied R3 to a couple of places. Were those sort of a "oh **** what if i don't get into anywhere" app so this admit was a huge relief? Will you be happy at UT?

It seemed like they held my application soooo long. I interviewed on 11/15/10. I kept thinking I might hear from adcom before Christmas. I was definitely in a panic! I thought I might get swept by the business school gods. I figured I might as well apply to as many schools as possible and maybe increase my odds of success. I will be more than thrilled to attend McCombs.

really very sad :( :( . was hoping to get through McCombs :( .. have kellogg, wisconsin and Boston to go..lets see what happens there :? .

Don't loose hope !

The issue is that I didn't even get a chance to prove myself to them. I mailed them asking about the reason and they sent the link to the class profile page and asked me to compare.. I had everything (GMAT, TOEFL, GPA) above their average scores except for the Work Exp. I think that made the diff.. but still an interview call was all I wanted :|
Anyways, thanks for your kind words. keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of them.

The essays are the one's that set u apart. Mediocre data points ( GMAT,TOEFL,GPA ) are secondary to the message you are trying to put across. If your story is not cohesive and it doesn't appeal to the ad com, you may not make it. The other point is that "Indian Male applicant" is a very competitive pool and distinguishing yourself becomes all the more important.
I have seen people with a profile similar to yours secure an admit at other higher ranked schools.

Call them when in doubt. Call the number on file....Rebecca will probably answer the phone--ask to be transfered to full time MBA admissions. Somebody will assist you there, if not call again and ask for Carolyn Davis(in case you can't get her on phone -- send her an email--she is usually very helpful).

They sent me an email and told me to log in to my application. The notice was at the top where it previously said "application submitted" or something similar.

UTA is a game of patience. From applying to admit it took me over 2 months! (Nov-Feb)

Best of luck!

Just FYI, probably better to say "Ut-Austin" versus UTA. Here in Dallas at least UTA stands for University of Texas Arlington not Austin.

In Mc's link, for those of you still waiting on decisions, etc:

Quote:
Linda Abraham: Eshan and Carlos are both wondering, once they interview how long it will take for them to be notified before receiving an admissions decision. Is there a notification date or is it a certain amount of time after the interview?

Jolene Ashcraft: Neither. It’s kind of best to go off when your application is completely submitted. So once we have all of your test scores, your transcripts, essays, recommendation letters, and your complete application, from that point it’s usually about 10-12 weeks to hear a final decision. And the interview can really take place at any point during that 10-12 week period. It could come earlier, it could come in the middle, and it could come later, depending on the number of reads your application gets before being invited for an interview. There isn’t a set amount of time after the interview when you will hear a decision. So just figure that after your application is complete and submitted, it is about 10-12 weeks to hear a final decision.
