I've been planning on enrolling in an MBA program for a while now, but I was thinking I would wait another year. However, circumstances have recently pushed me to reconsider, so I am trying to get into a program to start this fall. That doesn't leave me much time, obviously.
I've had to schedule my GMAT for June 30 in order to push an admissions packet through in time for enrollment. I wasn't particularly worried about that time frame (I've always been good at cramming), but reading through the prep strategies on here has elevated my blood pressure a little bit.
I've got a bumpy undergrad GPA to overcome, although it being a mechanical engineering degree helps according to my admissions counselor. Despite that, I need to score as highly on the GMAT as I can to ease fears of my academic ability.
I took one of the GMATprep tests last night to gauge where I'm at prior to any studying. I ended up with a 720 score with 49 quant and 41 verbal. That made me feel better, but I'm not willing to place my chances of acceptance on "I had a good practice exam score."
I've got the
Kaplan premier book on the way, and plan to use that in a general sense. This late in the game, do you think I would be better served by studying broadly, or should I get a book and really focus on verbal? I would really prefer to use the
Manhattan books to do a deep dive into all of the categories, but I just don't think I'll have the time.
I welcome any suggestions, and thank you in advance!
