Profile:

Graduate With Honor from University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada.
Undergraduate, Accounting Major
GPA - 3.6, TOP15%

GMAT: Q51, V38, TOTAL 730, AWA 6

Work Experience: 3 years in accounting, currently an accounting supervisor in a Canadian public mining company.
Considering going to Accenture China to do a consulting job in the near future (already have an offer from Accenture, and BTW, I'm a Chinese Canadian)

Goal: TOP 5 schools (It would be the best dream come true if I could get in schools like HBS, Standford or Wharton...)

Two questions:
1. Is it possible for someone with my background to get in the TOP 5 business schools?
2. I'm pretty confident if I took the GMAT again, I would be able to score a 760+, should I do it? I mean, would it help much?

Thanks a billion in advance!! Cheers.

Well, It depends on lots of stuff. Do you have good extra-currics? any additional leadership? What about community service? If you have all of above then that makes you a preeeetty darn good candidate, if your lacking all three, the going will be tough.

As for the GMAT, depends if you want to apply this year or next. If you want to apply now, I dont know that its such a great idea to retake the GMAT. Cause although you may be able to get a 760, (and I'm sure you can) surprises DO happen and you might end up spending all the time you need to work on your applications on your GMAT, only to get a less good score. (Believe me, I've seen this happen LOTS!)

If you will wait till next year anyway, take your time and go for the 760. It will help.

Hi,
Your profile looks great and you have a great GMAT score. I would question if only 3 years of work experience gives you sufficient exposure to develop your leadership skills. Having some international experience would help too, especially if you are targeting the top 5 schools.
