Anyone Know MS ACTG programs that take finance majors? [#permalink] New post 15 Feb 2010, 16:14
The title basically says it. Does anyone know of good (by good I mean the Big 4 has a decent presence there) master of accounting programs that will take finance majors who have taken minimal accounting (i.e. intro financial/managerial and maybe a bit of intermediate)?

Also, in general, what GPA/GMAT is needed for good programs?

Your selection depends on how many credit hours you have of accounting. Also some deadlines have passed.

If you have little to none, consider USC, UNC, Texas BC, Bentley
If you have a moderate amount, consider the above plus michigan and uva.
If you have a lot consider nearly every PAR program (UF, UGA, ...)

3.5 650 seems to be the average at most programs. Though yu figure there are a lot of 700s applying now for MSAs since the Finance market sucks.

I am a finance major applicant with only 2 accounting classes taken. I applied UTA, UIUC MSA, BC, USC, and UNC.
Got offers from the first 3, got interviews from the last 2, still waiting for final decisions.
My GMAT 650, GPA 3.6.
Hope that helps
