Applicant stats - thoughts? [#permalink] New post 26 Mar 2011, 14:26
Hi! I'm strongly considering business school in the future and I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on my current profile and what I can do to strengthen it to improve my admission chances. Here's a snapshot of my stats

Currently 25 years old, looking to apply in 2-3 years

Asian American

B.S. In biomedical engineering from top 15 engineering school (2.7 undergrad GPA)

M.S. In industrial systems engineering from top 15 engineering school (3.4 graduate gpa)

Currently employed at a fortune top 50 company as a logistics analyst. Primary responsibilities include forecasting and production planning of a $400 million dollar brand as well as side projects that relate to the growth and sustainability of the business. This is my first full time job out of college, but I also interned here.

GMAT 680 (I don't remember the breakdown but I was much higher on quant)

Schools I'm targeting:
LBS
Harvard
NYU
Stanford
Wharton
Northwestern
Chicago
Duke
USC
Berkeley

What are my chances? Should I consider more schools? What can I do to improve my odds?

Thanks so much for your feedback!

You're 2-3 years away from applying, so what I suggest you do is focus on your job and your life now first and foremost.

Beyond that, only thing you can do at this point is to focus on the GMAT -- you need a 700 or greater to be competitive for any of the top schools.

As for school choices, don't worry about that now.
