I would like to apply for several schools in Round One. Do schools read the applications as they come in? That is, is it to my advantage to submit my application several weeks before the deadline day?
Most schools read them in the order in which they are submitted. But many do not necessarily read them in that order. It depends.
Sorry to be so vague. WHile I do believe there is an advantage to submitting a few days or a week before the final deadline, I also believe there is an advantage in not submitting weeks before the deadline. Sometimes, letting the application sit and age like fine wine
especially as you are refining other applications can help ensure that that first application is as good as the third. In other words, put aside the application you finish a month early. Work on the second and third app, and then 7-10 days revisit the first application. You may decide to tweak it and improve it. Then submit several days before the R1 deadline.
