Yale is reporting a huge increase.
Cornell told me volume was "way up" this year.
I don't know about others.

An unscientific comparison of R1 data posted on admissions411 for 2006 and 2007 seems to suggest a drop in volume. Maybe, not enough people bothered to register.

Director of admissions at Columbia said that Early Decision apps were up 17% this year compared to last.

The problem w/ Admissions411 is that its a "one time deal". That is, people who discovered it last year vs people who discover it this year. In other words, its far more likely its a function of how popular the site is year over year than a function of % of applicants. I'd also add that the totals are based on R1/R2/R3 so last year is clearly going to look higher.

I think this figure is consistent with other schools.
The director of ad of Ross indicated that they are expecting 10-20% increase over the last yr.
