Applications for Round 2 [#permalink]
02 Oct 2011, 13:44
Hi All -
As Round 1 finishes up for many schools in the next few weeks, I am beginning to think about my applications Round 2. This may be a very basic question, but do most applicants apply to Round 2 schools before they know the results from the Round 1 applications? It seems that many of the dates overlap.
Let me know and thanks for the help.

That's going to be up to you. Check the schedules of the schools you're looking at and judge accordingly. If you have 3-4 weeks between decision / deadline... and you applied in RD1 to schools you want to attend, I would suggest outlining essays then hold off.

I3igDmsu As losttraveler advises, the answer depends a lot on the notification date of your round 1 schools and the deadline of your round 2 schools. Also keep in mind that you have year-end then and the holidays, which can be quite a distraction. I advise applicants to work on parallel tracks. For a brief moment, assume you are not accepted to any of your R1 schools, when do you need to start work and writing to submit by the deadlines? Set up your writing and editing schedule accordingly. Hopefully you will not need to complete much of the work that you will have started. However, if you do need to complete it, you'll be ready. Best, Linda
