Applying part time to USC.. advice? [#permalink]
08 Nov 2006, 15:54
hey people,
I'm applying for Fall 2007 USC Marshall MBA part-time program. I will finish my apps in about a month (due date is may 2007), but am weary of my chances mainly due to my low GPA.
My stats are as follows:
GPA - 2.5 cumalative (BS in Electrical Engineering at top 50 ranked school)
GMAT - 640
work exp: 1.5 years project management for software co., and 2.5 years as financial analyst for Fortune 500 consumer products co.
I plan on continuing my path in Finance, but may want to venture further into corp finance or financial services. The mean at USC part-time is GMAT 619 and GPA 3.1. As you can see, I fall short on GPA. What do you guys think of my chances and can anyone advise?
FYI, on my optional essay, I plan on speaking to my last year of college (where I earned 3.0) and some recent community coll. classes I took in Econ for "fun" and received As. I will also be retaking the GMAT first week of December and realistically hope to score 680+ (I think I flopped on my verbal since I've been scoring much higher on practice exams).
