"build" boat - in other words, a boat constructed out of planks fitted together -
definition included between hypens.

A and B remians.
that thus represetns --> "boat constructed out of planks fitted together" thus represents.. advance technology.

A looks good.

IMO C


IN C, "It" --refers to what ?? boat

that means -->boat represents a major advance --->??? is that make sense.
its actually boat constructed out of planks fitted together --- represents a major advance..

I agree with you. The triger word is thus
Because the boat is constructed out of planks fitted together, it represents a major advance.

A has a clear meaning.
