1. as +clause, so C out
2. "that" cannot refer to "goal", B out
3. "securing..." is compared to "the Greeks", the comparison is not completed , D out
4. E has the same errors as D, E out

A is the best

i am stuck up between A and B ..
A-"it" refers to what ?? sondenso pls explain .
B - Why that cannt refer to goal ?

I agree I picked B. Here is why. If I ask the Q, what is compared here? goal of X to goal of Y. Clearly goal is a noun and like should be used to compare nouns and as should be used for comparing actions. I dont think it vs that is tested here.

I read ..."it" should refers to preceding pronoun rather than phrase .
Pls throw light on this aspect .

OA is A, "it" refers to gaol hence clear comparison
