I totally agree with BB's point.
P.S. If you are taking 4-4.5 years in advance, that makes the scores a bit stale but just a year or two is no issue at all.
GMAT score is valid for 5 years and majority of the universities in the world accept the scores for 5 years. However, certain universities consider the scores within last 1-2 years. For example, few IIM's in India consider score within 1 year and few IIM's in India consider score within 2 years. So, it is better to check on the university's rules, especially if the university is not in USA.
