Are these "mba' jobs entry level? [#permalink]
02 Feb 2009, 21:07
I would want to do a career change after I get my mba. most likely, I will start my mba at the age of 27, finish before Im 30. after that, am I elgible to apply for these banking, consulting and finance jobs?
My only concern is that I currently work at an insurance company. I have 'work' experience, but it is not quite relevant to the banking, finance and consulting industry. I"m a supervisor, which is good, but I dont have any technical experience.
For most mba's who go into the banking industry, are you able to get in just because you have an MBA, or do they want relevant work experience also?
In other words, after i get my mba at the age of 30, am I fair game in making a career change, or am I better off staying in my current industry?

A huge fraction of each MBA class are career switchers - so in that sense, an MBA should help to enable these career paths for you. Some fields, in particular PE, tends recruit from PE folks, but if you go to a top program, you should be able to at least get into some interviews. Good luck!
