Hi,

So this is probably not going to be a standard question... There's one thing that I really want to do before my MBA. I want to quit my job and go travel for a year around the world. I'm sure the experience will be extremely enlightening, but I'm scared that if I were to have 4 years of work experience and then a year of travelling, MBA admissions officer might think less of my profile.

What's your experience, how would you view a person who decided to do an around the year-long world trip right before getting their MBA?

Best,
Tom

Why don't you apply for school, once you get in, then defer and do a round the world trip? Or, are you looking to stand out among the applicants as the 'world traveler'?

If you apply early action or round 1, you would know your result by December which would still leave you with 6-7 months for your trip
