agree with C.

Subjuctive mood required.

If I were President, I would have stopped the War.

If Capital were invested in another firm, interest incoulde would be generated.

Capital is singluar, but for subjunctive mood we use "were" instead of "was"

The use of "if" here requires the subjunctive mood; hence, the correct response
is: if a portion of the capital "where" ...

Answer should be in Subjunctive mood.
Unfortunately I spent too long trying to ensure the sentence was parallel.

Hi
I ll be happy, fi my post helps!!!

Consider the sentence,
If I were/ was the president of United states, I would have....

Now answer was or were , which is correct. I am sure u will agree with the fact that "were" is the correct form.
A hypothetical case is identified by a "would"..hence we must use "were" with it.

Consider kudos if my post helps!!!

What is the source of this question?

I got it wrong b/c i'm so used to interest income being used in the past tense because of work... nobody says "would be generating interest income" in the real world, but rather "would generate interest" or "would generate income" ... then, when you're analyzing taxes, it's "would have generated interest income" or "would have been generating interest income" since all taxes are retroactively looking at something you've already done (IE past tense or past subjunctive).

I really wanted to see a "would have been ... had been" answer choice.

Type 1. Conditional type - real at present
If subject+ verb - simple present, subject will/shall verb-infinitive
If I have money, I will build dreams (maybe it is true)

Type 2: Conditional type - unreal at present
If subject+ verb - past tense and "were" for all subjects, subject would do something
If I had money, I would build dreams (at this moment, I do not have money)

Type 3: Conditional type - unreal in the past
If subject+ verb ( past perfect tense), subject would have + PII
I had had money two years ago, I would have built dreams (in the past, I did not have money)
