Please explain why you rejected an option. i think its D......... option A) incoorect usage of that..... B) the sentence changes the meaning it says that people who have died in childhood, then how can they live well into old age. C) again the usage of that is inappropiate E) wrong use of pronoun "they"

OA is B.
Frankly, I do not understand how B is different in meaning from D (I short listed these two as the options, but was not able to zero down on either B or D). To me, they mean the same. Can someone throw more light on this?

In B, once means some time in the past (eg Once upon a time), so this conveys that they might have died in childhood But d completely distorts the menaing. It conveys taht they might have died one time and come back again.I hope this helps. scthakur wrote: OA is B.

Please explain why you rejected an option. A,C -out "that" is not appropriate here. at one time (wordy) = once (concise) D,E are out. D,E also distorts the meaning. as ritula explained.
