Please explain ur answer. Answer B"might at one time" and "might once" both are correct. But "once" is precise as compared to "at one time". So, "once" is preferred. "who" should be used to refer to people. "in childhood" is parallel to "into old age". "when they are children" is not parallel to "into old age". sequence: part I of sentence --> once - have died - in childhood part II of sentence --> now - live - into old age

B sounds right here. Who should be used to refer to people and 'B' fits the sentence better!

I will go with B, "who" to be referred to people, rejected D because its wordy and E because use of when is awkward

on gmat, "that" relative pronoun is not permited to refer to persons, "who" is permited. this is different from general grammar.
but I do not understand the difference between "once" and "at a time" in this question, pls help
