Sentence has following issues: 1. Usage of "Like" 2. Unnecessary Tense Change
A) majoring in specialized areas like those of finance and marketing have been becoming increasingly [ “Such as” is better alternative than “Like”; majoring implies an ongoing activity where as dependent clause is in simple present – eliminate it]
(B) who major in such specialized areas as finance and marketing are becoming more and more [ “Who” correctly modifying the students; Verb Major in same tense as the dependent clause – hold it ]
(C) who majored in specialized areas such as those of finance and marketing are being increasingly [ “majored” unnecessary tense shift; infamous redundant “being” - eliminate it]
(D) who major in specialized areas like those of finance and marketing have been becoming more and more [“Such as” is better alternative than “Like” – eliminate it]
(E) having majored in such specialized areas as finance and marketing are being increasingly [ Simple present preferred over “having majored”; infamous redundant “being” - eliminate it]
Answer: B

I agree that the answer should be "B" but doesn't "...becoming more and more..." seem redundant in answer "B"?
Perhaps it's a correct idiom that I should memorize?
Cheers, John.

"such as" is the best choice for examples. We remain only with B,C and E. B is the best choice.

like should be replaced with specialized areas " such as" because here the author is giving the example of the specialized areas.
Out of B and C, C is using past tense whereas the author talks in present.
Thus B
