Another refers to any other
the other is more specific , it refers to one particular other

The intent here is to compare with all species and not a specific one

So, i will go with D

IMO D has parallelism: individuals of one genetic composition is parallel to those of another

We are comparing "individuals of one genetic composition" with "individuals of another genetic composition".

My reasoning was the same as natia ["individuals of one" is parallel to "those of another"].
