Hello Kevin,
I wanted to ask you, your opinion about applying to MIT Sloan in Rd2. Is it true that their Rd3 is much like Rd3 at other schools and applicants are at a significant disadvantage?

Hi,
I have scored 700 in GMAT (Quant-49, Verbal-37).
I am having 18 months of experience as a Senior Programmer in Accenture. I am also a member of Event Management Team and Newsletter Team of my project.
I have cleared CFA level I.
I am 3 times state level runners up in Table Tennis tournament.
During my college, I was the chairperson and vice chairperson of IETE and ISTE societies. I was also the Student Pupil Leader in my school.
I am an active social worker. I have been a part of Ambuja Cement Foundation for past 4 years.
I am planninng to pursue my mba in 2011. I have shortlisted a few colleges :
NewYork University(Stern)
MIT(SLOAN)
University of Verginia(Darden)
Nanyang
ISB

Male, Indian
Score-620(Q-44,V-31) in second attempt, 550(Q-42,V-23) was in first attempt.
Work exp.- A total work experience of 4 years till date in banking and insurance industry. Currently working with one of the top life insurance company as a senior sales manager in Third party distribution for two states. managing some 50 distributors and a team of 15 people. Prior to this was a financial consultant with a MNC bank.
Education-Graduation in sciences, hons degree(3 yrs,first class, university topper), PG diploma in management(2yrs,second class).
Non US Schools in consideration-
1.HKUST
2.Nanyang
3.Manchester Business School
4.Warwick
US Schools in consideration-Please suggest.
Would be thankful if you can suggest some US schools, which I should go for and guide if the non US schools are within reach. Want to pursue career in marketing and gradually move to strategic management.

Hi,
I'm currently in my senior year of undergrad, majoring in Chemical Engineering. I am an African American male, and currently have a 3.2 gpa(Few extracurriculars-VP of NOBBCHE, member of other organization. Upon graduation, I will be working for the top oil company in the U.S. I am pretty new to this forum, but I am pretty sure that within 5 years of graduation, I will go back to obtain my MBA.
I do understand that my GPA is on the low side. What range of GMAT scores will allow me to become a competitive applicant for the top 10 MBA programs? Also does my GPA put me out of the running for H/S/W?
I appreciate any advice that you can offer.

Gmat - 690 (q 50 , v 34 ) awa -5.0
Gpa - 70% ( top 10 in class ) - college recognised as one of the best for chemical - alot of stress on studies .
work exp -1. 2 month internship at hay management consultancy - analyst position
2. 6 weeks in an investment bank
3. part time job at a branding startup( 4 months ) - working with movie production houses and corporates ( handled individual project worth Rs 2 crores)

I am looking for Top 10 MBA schools in UK (Cranfeild, Manchester business school, London Business school ....) Do i stand a chance ? Or what colleges should i aim for then ? what score will put me in lead? I have a second class graduate degree but a first class Postgraduate degree, so does my second class graduate degree matters when i am a postgraduate already in technology? While degree i gave most of the attention to Postgraduate computer diploma and did excellent in it.
Please advice as no one is giving me a right direction.
