I took my first prep full-length test this afternoon and got 760(Q50+V42). This is sort of beyond my expectation even when I'm taking the test. Now I'll just share some of my fresh feelings and ask for more advice because it's exactly 50 days left before my real GMAT day.
I took it exactly follow the GMAT time, start from 12pm to nearly 4pm. First is AWA. I thought the argument is a little bit strange, since it says "The foreign competitor of Motorcycle X sells its product not as well as X because it does not have much noise." I'm a little bit confused here. A motorcycle is not selling well because it does not make much noise? Strange. Hope I didn't misunderstand the argument. Has anyone ever encounter that argument?
After AWA, I went directly to Quant section. It's not that hard to me, but obviously much harder than
OG. Still, I made some silly mistakes, such as choosing D in a DS question when I actually combined the two conditions and want to choose C. Should avoid that kind of pity later!
An important question to me is how to avoid thinking about the result during exam. When taking the test, I cannot help thinking about the trend of difficulty, because I know GMAT is a computer adaptive test. To be specific, when I encounter an easy question, I cannot help wondering whether I did poorly in the previous question, and this did distract me from focusing on the question, and I had to read the question again. Maybe it's because I take the result too seriously. I know it's a bad habit, but can anyone give me some advise on how to avoid this negative feeling?
After the quant section, I took a ten minute break. A little bit more than ten minutes, I should say, because I started to feel a little hungry and ate an apple:) The verbal section is not as hard as I assumed, that's why I felt so strange after seeing that I got 42 in verbal. The SC is not that long, but for the RC, I still feel not very confidence in the answers. Need to improve RC. I guess the real test now should be harder than prep.
I have been preparing for the test for more than a month, and this coming month should be critical, because I still have to prepare my finals. My plan is to review the 4 Manhattan verbal books and Powerscore CR. They are really useful. And also, doing the questions from GMATClub (really excellent place, I love here). Can anyone give me some other suggestions on my review plan? And also provide some advice for RC.
Really appreciate for any piece of advice!
