Re: Ask INSEAD Admissions [#permalink]
Dear Camille,

I've read all this thread thoroughly and I have a question that I couldn't find answers to anywhere else:

There's not a single question in the application asking the basic question "Why Insead"? I presume this is done on purpose? I couldn't find where to place the information that I had visited campuses, attended open days, talked with the alumni. In almost every other university application, there is a dedicated space for that. So I'd love to know if that's a test of an applicant's creativity of where to put it, or does Insead deliberately not ask this question?

Thank you so much,
Indre

Dear Camille,

I am keen to get into Insead and have a few questions before I appear for GMAT in June 2016.

My current age is 33 and have experience of 9 years; I am sure that by the time I get into Insead, my experience would be 10 years +. I have also done PGDBM in Finance for 2 years. My quenstion is that will my candidature be considered for admissions in Insead? Assuming that I get into Insead, how easy/difficult would it be for me to get placements.

Reply awaited.

Thank you.

Best,
Jay

Hi Camille,

Two questions-

1) Will the Sept 2017 intake essays be different than the ones for Jan 2017 intake?

2) I am 36 now with 11 years of work experience. I will be 37 in Set 2017. Does INSEAD admit students of my age (Executive MBA is not an option for me)?

Thank you.

My question is,

if today A has dual citizenship from country X and Y.
A grew up and worked in country X and has very little or no connection to country Y except that A's parents probably were from Y.

Would INSEAD admission team evaluate A in the pool of country X or in country Y?

From what I read somewhere, A would have to chose which nationality he/she would like to go with.

Hello,

I have a query regarding the INSEAD application, particularly in the recommendations section.
Is it necessary to send in recommendation letters from people we are working with? Or can they be from our ex- professors too? And also, how much does the level/designation of that person matter?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Dear INSEAD Team

I have couple of questions regarding the application.

Section 5 - Current Work Experience : Currently I am not working. Should I fill details of most recent work experience in this section.

Section 14 - Supporting Documents - Transcripts: I have detailed marks card for each semester (Engineering) with grades for every subject and my degree, which has University Seal. Can I scan them and upload for evaluation or I will have to request a separate transcript from my university?

Thanks in Advance

Dear Camille/INSEAD admission team,

I have a question on Job Essay 1 of application and will appreciate your recommendations on how to proceed.

I have left my previous job in June 2016 (spent 4 years with the company) and currently work at our family-owned business as business development director.
Would you suggest I answer the Job Essay 1 question based on my current (not that extensive) job or rather base my answer on the job I had before?

Will appreciate your support!

Best regards,

Firstly, your recommenders will fill out an online questionnaire including a few essay type questions and a matrix in which they will need to evaluate you on a few elements (leadership, quantitative skills, etc.) - you can find these questions and the matrix online if you do a google search.

Secondly, it is more important that you get someone to recommend you who has worked closely with you and can speak to your strengths and weaknesses. Level/designation does not matter.

Make sure you work with your recommenders to develop your story!

Good luck!

Re: Ask INSEAD Admissions [#permalink]
Hi Camille,

I intend to apply for INSEAD at Round 3. I then have a question and would like to ask you for advice.

I passed my TOEFL test and I got 102. In fact, I did pass it twice:
First time I got 102 (R: 26; L: 27; S: 25; W: 24) and the second time I got 101 (R: 26; L: 26; S: 24; W: 25)

As the score required for INSEAD is 105, I wonder whether my score is considered and that I have a chance to get accepted with my application?

Plus, how INSEAD will interpret my score? It will take the highest score or the combination of the best score (if so, I got 103)

I thank you so much and I'm looking forward for your advice.

Re: Ask INSEAD Admissions [#permalink]
Hi Camille

My questions are-
1) A dental surgeon already having an MBA hospital management from Tier 3 college of India but is looking for an international MBA (a second MBA) after 5 years of work experience, what are the chances of getting shortlisted for INSEAD with that background?

2) If a candidate quit their job to pursue their passion (eg work in NGO/ Travel) for a year and then applied for INSEAD MBA would it be negative?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I am preparing for GMAT with a 4month study plan in mind.
I am willing to go for 1yr FT MBA program. So, INSEAD is my first choice without any doubt.
Now, my age is 33+. Can this be a hinderance to get selected?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I have 4 years of experience running my startup and some 2.5 years of running my family business.
Do you guys entertain a profile as mine who does not have any corporate experience?

Thanks
