According to the most up to date 2013 Financial Time Full-time MBA ranking, CUHKMBA has been ranked 27th in the world overall, no.16 and no. 41 in graduates' career progression and placement success respectively, which are both no.1 in Hong Kong. Prof. Chak Wong is currently Professor of Finance Practice at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, program director of MSc Finance, associate director of MBA and director of Asia Pacific Institute of Business. His academic research interests include macroeconomic impact of banking and theoretical modeling of financial systems. Other than academic research, he writes articles for Chinese newspaper and magazines such as FT Chinese, China Daily and iMoney, commenting on government policies and other related economic issues. Before returning to academia in 2010, Prof. Wong was Managing Director and Head of Structuring of IBD Asia including Japan of Barclays Capital. He was responsible for client risk advisory and risk management solutions across all asset classes. Prof. Wong was Managing Director and trader in UBS London and Hong Kong, co-heading the APAC structured products groups which trades and designs products including all asset classes and hybrids. He also spent a number of years in London in Goldman Sachs as Executive Director, working as a strategist/quant and trader for rate, FX and inflation. Prior to that, he was a quantitative analyst in credit derivative and emerging market in Morgan Stanley, London. Prof. Wong completed a Bachelor degree in The Chinese University and U.C. Berkeley, reading Electronic Engineering, Pure Mathematics and French. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Oxford. How does it really benefit you in getting an MBA? The reasons given are as 1. Added to these are substantial foreign exchange reserves, a fully convertible and stable currency, and a simple tax system with low tax rates."
Hong Kong is an international financial centre in which many multinational financial institutions have set up operations. It is also the premier trading hub* between mainland China and the rest of the world. There are enormous career opportunities in Hong Kong. 3. Hong Kong is a fun and dynamic city to live in – Most livable city in the world in 2012
People from all around the world come to Hong Kong to study, to work and to live. The city is a melting pot of different nationalities and cultures. As summarised by the HKTB: "Culture and heritage is what sets Hong Kong apart from the rest of Asia - indeed the world. Hong Kong is a unique fusion of Eastern and Western cultures where the old and the new live side by side."
Apart from detailed above, Hong Kong also embraces marvelous natural sceneries including mountains and lakes. It’s quite easy for you to sneak out for a lazy weekend in the woods or get yourself relaxed in the green of natural Oxygen bar in a mountain. On the other hand however, the night life in Hong Kong can be quite luxuriant too. Getting spirits from different corners of the world would be a quite easy task. The splash of various cultural dwelling is for sure essential to your life enrichment.
