Asking recommenders for one more letter [#permalink]

Early on I have removed NYU from the list of primary schools. I have been reading alot about this school and it's strengths in finance and I think I've made a mistake that I should correct.
Is it unprofessional to ask recommenders to write one more (I swear last one!) recommendation?

i think it should be fine...just explain to him/her why you are considering NYU at this stage...i am sure they will understand...
unless you ask them to write one in the next couple of days

Don't they just need to copy/paste their reco for other schools (well, maybe with minimal cosmetic change)? I thought the recos, unlike essays, are pretty much generic and school-independent...
