I think it is C though I am a bit confused between C an E.

I picked E . I definitely had it down to C or E, but now looking back, I cant come up with a good enough reason that C is wrong

What does the pronoun "they" refer to.... There is no they, therefore look for sentences without they.

I would have to go with "E"

a,b,d are out beacuse of pronoun error

c is out to be suggested is incorrect must use the infinitive to suggest

e corrects the problem.

The subject is complexity and therefore must use was. Orgins is not the subject.
