I have a question here ..
if the clause before "that " is in past , should not the clause following "that" be also in past tense too

What makes A) wrong? PrP is ok IMHO, besides we have "recent" which implies the use of PrP.

Another vote for B. "At a recent session" hints past tense, so only B or D. D is wordy than B.
