Hi everyone - HELP PLEASE!
I'm averaging 570 on GMAT mocks, even after studying for 2 years (on and off). My situation is this - I work full-time at a very intense job, at a Fortune 500 company. My commute to work is on average 2.5 - 3 hours each day. I barely have time to relax at home before the day starts over again.
In the last 2 years, I've taken days off to study the GMAT. Last 3 months, I got fed up and signed up for Kaplan. I took intensive classes and thought my verbal and quant to be improving. From 530 to a 600 on mock Kaplans, I was feeling good - until I had a mock test at a Pearson site and BOMBED with a 530.
Demoralized and discouraged, I continued to study on average 5 - 10 hours per week. I was getting beat week after week after week.
I'm planning to re-take the GMAT at end of Feb. With less than a month left, I'm not sure if I should push it out once more. I've been doing
OG 12 problems in the last 2 weeks. Easy to medium level difficulty - I'm scoring around 65% - 75% in accuracy. I bought the Powerscore RC and haven't improved my Verbal grades yet.
PROBLEM: On Quant, I find that no matter how much I study the problems and answers, I can't seem to get it right. Yeah sure, I can work on the errors but I don't seem to have a good grasp on the math concepts. In theory, I find the concepts rather easy (& probably dismisses it!) but in application, I can't seem to get it! My current company required me to take a logic test (very similar to GMAT but with one or two steps) and I did fairly well so I don't think I'm a total dud but AFTER 2 years of studying and not improving my score, I'm starting to think I AM a dud!
