Guys
I have this question lingering my mind - for the analysis of an issue, is it OK to use - I - in the essay. Meaning can I write, "I feel.." or "I take the position..", or is it all supposed to be writted from another's viewpoint? I am not clear on this.. Please explain. Thanks

i dont see why not. You are the person making the argument so I dont see why you can't say "I am against this statement because I believe xyz". What you think is important

well there are different writing styles and content is the thing that is most important. I used "I" on mine and i got 5.5s. I just felt reasonable to use "I" since I am the one writing the arguments and giving examples. you could try not use "I" - it is good either way if your essay itself is good.

It doesn't matter if you use "I".
