Hi
I have a GMAT score of 730 (Q:50, V:38) but the AWA score is 4.0. I am planning to apply for Fall 2006. Will the AWA score stick out in the application? Do you think I should retake the GMAT for the AWA or leave it as it is and concentrate on other things? I am inclining towards not retaking the GMAT but wanted your view on it.

AWA really doesn't make that much of a difference. You are much much better off concentrating on your essays and making sure that they are impeccable.

Can a good AWA score help then ? Does any univarsity actually ask for essays written for GMAT ?

No it doesn't really help. If you do absolutely horrible 2.0 let's say and have essays that look like Shakespere, that will raise eyebrows.

No, they cannot see the essays that you write for the AWA.

I have been told by several Texas schools that they do get copies of the essays and they do read them. Has anyone eles been told this by adcomms?
