B-schools in Chicago area [#permalink]
17 Aug 2005, 12:30
I have 2.5yrs of work experience as an analyst in banking industry. I have been promoted within 1.5 yrs of my tenure. I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2002 with Honors in Finance. I am also a board member of Habitat for Humanity and serving as the Team lead for a year now. My GMAT score is 580 (strong verbal hit, math was 90 percentile). If I could improve my GMAT score, do you think I would have a better chance in any of the top schools in Chicago?
I am intimidated by the competition and feel the process is quite daunting. Can you suggest any good schools not among top 15 in Chicago area?
Thanks so much for your help!

I would suggest taking the GMAT again after working on the V section. There are many quality MBA programs in IL, IN, and WI beyond the two ultraelites including Indiana, Notre Dame, Purdue, Univ of Illinois, and Univ of Wisconsin.
