B-Schools in europe for Operations/Logistics/Supplychain [#permalink] New post 28 Jun 2013, 05:58
Hi,

I have been working in IT since 5 years as an ERP technical consultant. My GMAT score is 700.

Post MBA, want to pursue a career in Operations/Logistics/Supply Chain areas of a manufacturing firm in Europe.

Which B-schools in Europe are good for MBA with specialization in Operations/Logistics/Supply Chain and job opportunities?

Please advice.

Thanks

Electrolyte, have you considered some MBA programmes in the Netherlands? Being a major hub in trade the Netherlands has strong presence within the Operations/Logistics and Supply Chain. With a major port in Rotterdam that is servicing almost the whole of Europe you can be sure that all large (international) companies have an office...and thus job opportunities....around Rotterdam or The Hague. An option could be us of course, Rotterdam School of Management:)

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I have another question.

To secure a job in Ops/Supply chain in Netherlands or in others parts of europe (especially Germany) is language a constraint?
I know we can take a language course before or during MBA but still will recruiters consider it as a back drop?

In which industries in europe language is not a constraint?

Thanks

Hi, would be inclined to say that in Germany speaking the local language is more of a requirement compared to the Netherlands where English is a very common business language. Of course it all depends on the size and outlook of the companies that you are looking for. At RSM we have a 95% international studentbody (of which 30% is European) and 75% is employed within Europe..and 50% in The Netherlands. The numbers are thus in favour of non-European students. However speaking a few words of the local language will never hurt you either!
