hello everyone
could anyone please tell me whether bschool admission authorities do a background validation (specially for the current job) before offering admission?
I am asking this because if that is true, i might run into trouble in my current job. The management in my company is not aware of the fact that i m applying for bschool. If i don't get a call, I would want to stick to my current job, which would be difficult if my bosses get to know of my aspirations :).
Secondly, how important is it to have someone from my current company recommend me? The reason for this questions is of course the same as that for previous one :)

They won't do the background check until you get admitted and accept their offer, so no worries there.

As for recs, I didn't use any from my current job, and had no issues. It is probably a good idea to mention your reasons for not using current supervisor briefly (2-4 sentences) in the "optional" essay. Word it artfully, but don't get defensive. It isn't a very big deal as it seems to be pretty common!
