bad experiences ? [#permalink] New post 15 Jul 2010, 08:38
I heard many instances from people who left MS in middle because of bad rapport with their professors and they getting screwed and leaving schools with out degrees. Did anyone face such issues with MBA ? are professors generally encouraging ?and intend you to fulfill the program ?

what are your experiences ?

Most of the instances where I've heard of such circumstances are with PhD programs or an MS program in which you have to write a thesis. In both of these cases, you have an advisor, which is kind of like playing the lottery in some ways. Fortunately for me, I had a great advisor when I did my Master's in engineering.

I wouldn't think that this would be a problem in b-school. The extent of the relationship you have with most of your professors in b-school ends at the classroom, aside from the usual networking, etc., since you don't have to do a thesis. Of course, there may be projects where some professors do serve as advisors, but it's not like they have any say in whether you will graduate or not. So I wouldn't worry about something like this happening.

Good luck!
