Bad GMAT, Please advice [#permalink] New post 12 Dec 2005, 22:13
Hi,

I took GMAT recently and got 590. It was one of those bad days and I cant understand why I got so less. I plan to apply to the UT Austin MBA program.

I have 5 years work exp. in Oil and Gas Industry. I have a masters degree in Chem Eng. I will be applying only to UT and so want to make sure I will get in. Do you think I need to retake the GMAT or can I nail other things like my essays and get good recommendation and manage to get in?

I hate myself for screwing up on the GMAT but it was one of those things I couldnt help.

Also, please advice which book is recommended for studying? Princeton turned out to be useless anyway as it is too simple. Thanks

Hi,
Just check the Austin's 80% GMAT range. If you lie within that range, you need not to give GMAT again.
