"it" has no logical referent... better yet, "it" does not clearly refer to picture..

used for a basis , is incorrect... used as a basis is better.

this seems wrong..but cant really explain it...but if you compare it to E, D is verbose

E should be the correct answer. No ambiguity. the clause starting with "using" correctly modifies scholars

Yes E is the answer. Praetorian stole my words on chosing between A) and E). This question is from OG but the explanation is not as good as Prae's explanation.
