C & D: Too wordy
E: 'Using accounts' doesn't sound right

I would go with B...curios to know the OA

i would pick E.

A. Bases on accounts? unidiomatic
B. Basing it ... wrong right there already... that notorious it... no possible antecedent
C. Wordy
D. By the account is the wrong starting modifier for a noun, scientist
E. The scientist, using accounts of various ..., have known... ok sounds the best so far.
