Because of global climate changes that caused continuing droughts in South America where most of the world’s coffee plantations are situated, less coffee has been produced and its price on the world market is now at an all-time high. Because of this, several agricultural companies in Arab countries, which specialize in rice cultivation, are going to increase their profits by cultivating coffee on some of their plantations instead of rice.

Which of the following, if true, would most likely make the agricultural companies mentioned in the argument above reconsider their plan?
(A)Most coffee consumers are willing to pay high prices for coffee only if its quality is high.
(B)Coffee plants are pollinated by certain species of insects that do not live in Arab countries.
(C)If some rice plantations will be used for coffee cultivation, then rice supply will decrease and its price will increase.
(D)The costs of growing rice are on an upward trend and are not likely to decrease.
(E)Soils in most Arab countries are very similar to soils in South America on which coffee beans are cultivated.

Which of the following, if true, would most likely make the agricultural companies mentioned in the argument above reconsider their plan?
(A)Most coffee consumers are willing to pay high prices for coffee only if its quality is high. - We dont have any info about the quality of coffee produced in Arab countries. Incorrect
(B)Coffee plants are pollinated by certain species of insects that do not live in Arab countries. - Correct. If pollinators are not present in arab countries, then how will crops be pollinated. No pollination means no production. Thus a complete failure. CORRECT
(C)If some rice plantations will be used for coffee cultivation, then rice supply will decrease and its price will increase.
- We are not concerned what will happen to Rice supply. Incorrect.
(D)The costs of growing rice are on an upward trend and are not likely to decrease
- Why are we concerned about the costs of rice? we should be concerned about the costs of Coffee. Incorrect
(E)Soils in most Arab countries are very similar to soils in South America on which coffee beans are cultivated.
- No info about how this can hurt the profits of arab countries. Incorrect

IMO B

CONCLUSION: Arab farmers want to INCREASE PROFIT by PLANTING COFFEE.
we have to weaken this...==>we can clearly weaken this by providing data that the coffee plantation is not possible in ARAB.....hence they are not going to gain profits.

clearly B says this
(B) Coffee plants are pollinated by certain species of insects that do not live in Arab countries.==>hence correct

(A)Most coffee consumers are willing to pay high prices for coffee only if its quality is high.==>WE dont know about the coffee quality whether it will be good or not. hence out of context.

(B)Coffee plants are pollinated by certain species of insects that do not live in Arab countries.==>correct

(C)If some rice plantations will be used for coffee cultivation, then rice supply will decrease and its price will increase.====>we are not worried about profit by rice...hence misses the context.

(D)The costs of growing rice are on an upward trend and are not likely to decrease.====> we are not worried about rice growth trend...hence misses the context.

(E)Soils in most Arab countries are very similar to soils in South America on which coffee beans are cultivated.====>BEANS=== ==>NO WAY

waitinng OA
