I think it's D, because demand should be followed by 'for' and 'consistently‘ is superfluous.

The right choice would be between B and E. as all others are comparing Noun Gold with Expensiveness of Platinum. I think it should be "B" as the message from the sentence coming from, Availability of Platinum is already less, increased in demand make it consistently expensive.
