Source of the question: official paper test by GMAC ( test code 31)

Hi E-gmat team,

I have a specific doubt regarding a concept which is checked in this question by GMAT. Though, this question has been discussed in gmat club forum, i was not convinced with the explanation for answer.

Many students posted that answer choices C is wrong because the construction- (Because + clause + comma + therefore) is wrong as therefore is redundant here.
i am not convinced with the explanation to remove this answer choice.

I know that ' therefore' is not required in ans. choice C to convey the meaning as ( because and comma) already convey the intended meaning but can we eliminate this answer choice because of above construction?

Please clarify.Thanks in advance!!
