I took GMAT in August in India .Scored 650 (Quant=50,Verbal=28 ).
I prepared for 4 months full time
wheni had given teh test before starting my prep without reading or doing anything, my score was 690
so i was targeting 770.
i am suprised how is this possible, that with 4 moths dedicated prep, my score went down by 40 points
i am from engineering background, hence maths was not a very big problem, i worked on verbal for all thsi time.
I went through Manhattan SC,
powerscore CR bible in verbal and also went thorugh
OG 12.Verbal review 2.My accuracy was almost 85% in all these books.
Before actual Test I took 7 tests .( 4
MGMAT,1 KAPLAN,2 GMATPREP)
and other 16
gmatclub tests ( individual quant and verbal)
In all these tests i scored average 49 in quant and average 28-32 in Verbal.
In Verbal Section----
1) mostly I get stucked between 2 choices.Very often I select the wrong Choice.
2) reading comprehension is my weakest area. i was counting upon sc and cr to pull my socre up.
3) In real exam I was not well, but that cannot be teh reason entirely as i was already scoring low on practise tests
but may be I got exhausted with all tough Questions. according to me all the verbal questions were more difficult than anything i have seen in
manhattan or
OG 4) In verbal tests one reason of low score is that I get around 8-10 consecutive questions wrong in the middle of the test, and this pattern has been consistent.
5) What can I do to improve my verbal to 40 level?? Plz suggest.I am in dire need of your suggestions.
i also i cannot take anymore offs in office. and i have just 20 days at hand to prepare and give the gmat again
How can I learn the art of choosing the right among the 2 answers where I usually get stucked.
after the debacle in aug i was so much depressed that i have not been able to pick my books again for more than a month now.
please please plz suggest a detailed strategy for me..
