I'm wondering if you could help me out with a tough one? I recently scored a 710 on the GMAT, currently have 5.5 years of sales/marketing experience and was a sucessfull college athlete. However, my undergrad GPA was in the 2.7 range. I have amazing volunteer experience, as well as executive level recommendations. Do I even bother applying to University of Chicago or Kellogg? Thanks!

I'm no expert or anything but it seems to me you could partially mitigate a low college GPA by taking some courses related to your field of study and aceing them.

I agree with the coffee lover. :-) No single thing will ever rule you out of consideration from top schools. If you can concvince adcomms that you're more disciplined,if you can show them you have the smarts (with your GMAT), and if you can even walk the walk and do better in a college course that you take before applying, you certainly have a shot at Kellogg& Chicago.
