Hi,
Currently I have a bachelors and Masters degree in engineering, and I have been working in a major european bank for a year in the Operations division. I am also preparing for CFA (giving level 2 this June). My aim is to get a job as a structurer or derivatives trader.
Considering my background and aim, can anyone advise which among the three degrees is best suited to me - MBA (specialising in finance), Masters in Financial engineering or a Masters in Finance.
My fear in doing MFE is that it is another engineering degree, and I will be pigeonholed pretty severely if I pursue it. MFin sounds better, but it is not as well known. However, it has lesser work experience requirements + cost.
Considering these, I was thinking of doing MBA with specialisation in finance. But my fear is that the quantitative portion in that might not be strong enough for me to apply for a structuring position. Could anyone advise on the suitability of an MBA for such jobs ?
